  1. Transgressive behavior
  2. Integrity issues
  3. Important difference

The difference between transgressive behavior and integrity issues lies in the nature of the behavior and its impact within an organization or society.

Transgressive behavior

This refers to actions that violate personal, emotional or professional boundaries and often cause discomfort, harm or an unsafe environment. The main characteristic of transgressive behavior is disrespect for an individual’s personal space or dignity. It may be unintentional or intentional, but the core problem is the violation of personal boundaries.

Integrity issues

Integrity issues are actions or behaviors that compromise ethical, legal or moral standards within an organization or society and lead to social wrongdoing. These issues involve violations of ethical, legal or moral standards, often leading to actions such as fraud, corruption or misconduct. Examples of integrity issues include:

  • Fraud or embezzlement
  • Corruption or bribery
  • Conflict of interest
  • Violating laws or regulations

Important difference

Transgressive behavior focuses more on personal interactions and respect for individuals in terms of physical, emotional or social boundaries. Integrity issues are broader in scope and involve ethics, legal standards and trust within an organization or community, often resulting in social wrongdoing. While both are serious problems, transgressive behavior tends to affect personal well-being and relationships, while integrity issues can undermine the entire ethical framework or reputation of an organization or society.
