Cor Kuijer

After studying law at Erasmus University Rotterdam, I worked as a business consultant for an employers' organization in the Metal Industry. The issue of people and organization was central to my consulting practice. I then transitioned into the legal profession with a specialty in employment law. During my existence as a lawyer, I have always viewed “learning” as an important factor. I have attended various trainings and courses, which have also led me to work as a negotiator, conflict mediator and confidant. I am still learning every day!

Effective January 1, 2023, I left the legal profession behind and converted my law practice to an employment law consulting practice. I am also employable as an external Confidential Advisor, registered with the National Association of Confidential Advisors (LVV). The starting point in my work is that organizations are carried by living beings, each with their own background and story. Therefore, I do not solve people and organizational issues from behind my desk. So I like to be on location to gain insight into how a particular situation arose and to learn about the people involved.

In my role as a Confidential Advisor, I assist reporters and defendants. Creating trust, listening to the reporter's or defendant's story without prejudice, exploring the possibilities of reaching a good solution to the problem and guiding the person involved in discussions with third parties, including the complaints committee, are important areas of focus for me in this regard. As a Confidential Advisor, I provide companies with information and advice in the area of sexual harassment. I experience moments of happiness when I feel I can mean something to people!
