My name is Simone Schraepler. I am a mother to a 22-year-old daughter and I live and work in Rotterdam. My journey in the professional world has led me through various paths, during which I have gained a lot of valuable experience. My work history encompasses a range of experiences, mainly within business services for the first 25 years of my career. This period not only provided me with a solid foundation of knowledge and skills but also sparked my interest in supporting others in their professional development.

After that period, I felt the need to work more from a societal commitment perspective and decided to take my career in a different direction. Since then, I have worked as a social entrepreneur, with the police, in home care, and also as a consultant and advisor in the fields of diversity and inclusion and social entrepreneurship. This versatility has shaped me into who I am today and makes me a pleasant conversation partner within various organisations and at all levels.

 

Subsequently, I completed the training for a certified confidential counselor and became a member of the LVV (Professional Association of Confidential Advisors). I combine my current work as an advisor on impact entrepreneurship with working as an external confidential advisor. This combination fulfills my competencies and interests. As a confidential advisor, I am committed to creating a safe and supportive environment for people within organisations. My role involves listening to concerns, providing support and guidance, and promoting a culture of respect and inclusion. Through my experience, knowledge, and skills, I am able to effectively respond to various challenges and contribute to positive solutions and changes.

My vision for my work as an external confidential advisor is based on striving for the empowerment and well-being of individuals within organisations. I believe in the importance of an open and supportive environment where people feel heard and have the space to utilise their full potential. By being accessible and offering confidentiality, as well as respect and guidance, I hope to contribute to creating a healthy and productive work environment where everyone thrives.
